Choosing Your Ideal Picnic Basket

| April 16, 2011

No great picnic is complete without a picnic basket. After all, you can’t carry your food, utensils, and other items to your favorite picnic spot without one of these picnic classics! There are so many different picnic baskets out there, but how do you know which one is right for you? There are a few things you should ask yourself before you submit your online order.

First of all, you need to figure out what kind of picnic basket you want. There are three different kinds of picnic baskets. There are wicker picnic baskets, insulated picnic baskets, and then there are backpack picnic baskets.

Wicker picnic baskets are most likely what you imagine when you think about taking a picnic. Many individuals prefer wicker picnic baskets because they are the classic and traditional picnic baskets.

There are also insulated picnic baskets. These are generally made of polyester and are meant to keep your food and beverages cold. These are especially ideal for hot summer days because they keep your food from spoiling when it’s warm outside. Insulated picnic baskets generally look more like a tote bag, and their handles make them a lot easier to maneuver than the traditional basket. These are also available with several compartments so that you can keep your picnic supplies organized.
Lastly, there are backpack picnic baskets. These are wonderful for individuals who are traveling to their picnic destination on a bike or a motorcycle. Many hikers utilize backpack picnic baskets because they make it much easier to transport your meal, especially if you are walking a long distance to your perfect picnic spot.

Once you decide which type of picnic basket is right for you, you have to decide whether you want a furnished picnic basket or not. Many wicker picnic baskets, insulated picnic baskets, and backpack picnic baskets come with the supplies that you need to have the perfect picnic. With a stocked picnic basket, you don’t have to worry about packing the silverware, cups, and plates that you use every day. Best of all, you will already have your picnic packed (Minus the food, of course!) if you decide to take a last minute picnic.

Now you have to decide how much money you want to spend on a picnic basket. Insulated picnic baskets tend to be more expensive than traditional picnic baskets, and furnished baskets will cost you more as well.
